Just as we were starting to recover from our Second Term and its much dreaded Term Examinations, along it came this last term. Although short and decisive for a few students – and the very last one for our soon-to-be “graduates” – it is full of challenging topics, such as “Reported Speech”, “Passive voice” and “Pronouns”. It is topics like these that spice our days and reward our witty minds.
Accepting the challenge, our students engaged themselves in a very satisfying peer-work, where they helped each other understand and summarize the different aspects of the work. By doing this, they could memorize the subject more and became capable of using the structures in a most satisfactory manner.
Our two Fourth Years produced front pages of “make-believe” newspapers in order to demonstrate their knowledge of passive voice – the universal news and scientific language. In addition to their proficiency in the subject, they poured creativity and a keen sense of humor into their posters.
This year our children will share their experiences with those that will take their places next year. Thus, First Year will be telling our Six Graders about the transition they faced; Second Year will be telling the latter what to expect; Third Year will demonstrate their successors that they can come alive out of it; Fourth Year will advise about career and university choices; and Fifth Year will say “Goodbye” by sharing with us their life plans. Next year, will certainly be a great time!
